This Mercedes G-Class Took 1,000 Hours To Meticulously Restore
You have to respect the amount of time and effort that went into this restoration project.
As one of the most capable off-roaders on the market, the mighty Mercedes G-Class can take a lot of punishment. As a result, there are plenty of old G Wagons that need restoring back to their former glory. Expedition Motor Company specializes in doing exactly that. This latest project, a 1990 Mercedes-Benz 250GD Wolf finished in Rubellite Red, took over 1,000 hours to meticulously restore, but the result is an achingly cool-looking G-Class capable of doing some serious off-roading.

Powering the vintage G-Class is a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. As part of the meticulous restoration process, the off-roader is stripped down to the bare metal.
Once it's been disassembled, anti-corrosive primer is applied before the components are completely restored and upgraded to modern standards, including the transmission, brakes, suspension and steering.
Inside, the interior is finished with brown vinyl-covered seats and doors complemented with bright orange stitching and a spartan dashboard that's period correct to the original 1990 build. To upgrade the cabin to modern standards, Expedition Motor Company has fitted new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and a modern entertainment system with Bluetooth, USB, and device plug-in support. The off-roader's original fold-down windshield and soft-top cabriolet configuration have also been retained.
Expedition Motor Company is selling this lovingly restored G-Wagon for $102,150 and is accepting commissions for other projects.
