The Next-Gen Ford Ranger Has A Reveal Date

Time to mark your calendars, the new Ranger is almost here!

The Ford Ranger may have only been on sale here for a short time, but it's actually a pretty old vehicle underneath, one that has been sold in other markets for around six years.

As such, it arrived in need of a refresh, but Ford was well aware of that and appears to have been throwing everything it can at the 2023 version of the pickup. We've been seeing the Ranger get torture tested and have spotted prototype vehicles being developed on the road too, but when will the all-new truck be revealed?

We now have an answer, as Ford has revealed that we don't have long to wait. November 24 is the official date of reveal. Accompanying the announcement, Ford has given us another teaser image of the midsize pickup truck, along with a video of the new Ranger's design process with chief designer, Max Tran.

Ford says we can look forward to "a rugged new Built Ford Tough look, and a host of new features that boost productivity, capability, and versatility." Ford's designers, as you'll have seen in the short clip above, engaged with customers to find out what they want from a pickup. By involving the customers early on, the designers "got more insights than ever before."

For a vehicle that is sold in over 180 markets, building one global vehicle with a design that appeals to Australians, Americans, South Africans, and more is not easy, but Ford is confident that the end result is one we'll all like.

The video doesn't let much slip, but we do get a peek at some interesting design details. For a start, it appears that the front fascia will be recessed into the body, with the lights and grille residing below an overhang from the hood.

We can also look forward to squared and widened fenders, but we'll learn more in the live stream on November 24th, which will take place on Ford's YouTube channel. Obviously, the American version of the Ranger will likely come with some small powerplant and trim changes, but we're going to get loads of versions to choose from, so for the first time in years, the USA will get a Ranger that is just as good as what the rest of the world drives.
