Tesla Cybertruck Logo Leaked
According to the logo, Tesla’s Cybertruck pickup could actually be called Cybrtrk.
If we’re to believe a forum called Tesla Motors Club, the electric-vehicle company registered the logo of its upcoming Cybertruck pickup with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. “I’d like to buy a vowel, Pat” said no one ever during the process, as the logo actually reads CYBRTRK.
Back on November 6th, Elon Musk tweeted that the company’s new pickup truck would be unveiled on November 21st, in Los Angeles near the SpaceX rocket factory.
We don’t know much about the Tesla Cybertruck, or Cybrtrk, so far. According to Musk’s tweets, the pickup truck will boast two electric motors and all-wheel drive, in addition to “crazy torque” and a load-leveling suspension. All standard.
He also stated the Cybertruck would boast a towing capacity of 300,000 pounds and cost less than USD$50,000. Sure.
The Tesla Cybertruck unveiling occurs just as other U.S.-based companies will unveil—or have already presented—fully electric pickup trucks. Among them, there’s the Rivian R1T, the Lordstown Motors Endurance, the Workhorse Group W-15 and, eventually, the Ford F-150 EV. General Motors should also hop on the EV truck bandwagon as its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant will produce battery-electric vehicles, though no timeline has been set.
What is clear, though, is that launching a pickup truck on the U.S. market will be quite a challenge, as brand loyalty is strong in that market segment. However, successful sales could be extremely profitable for the California-based firm, seeing how many pickup trucks are bought each year in the U.S.
In 2018 alone, Ford sold 909,330 units of the F-Series, GM moved out 585,581 copies of the Silverado and 219,554 copies of the Sierra, while FCA kissed goodbye to 536,980 units of the Ram pickup. Add Nissan TITAN and Toyota Tundra sales, and we’re talking about 2.4 million trucks.
There’s definitely potential for the fully electric Tesla Cybertruck or Cybrtrk. It all boils down to how much it will cost and what its capacities will be.
