Hardcore Jeep Gladiator Concept Will Star At SEMA360

This year's SEMA show is going to be a bit different.

The Jeep Gladiator is one of the most off-road capable midsize pickups on the market, but Jeep also offers an extensive range of Mopar accessories that let you kit out the truck to suit your needs. Traditionally, Jeep showcases new Mopar accessories on extreme concepts at the annual SEMA show. Like every other major auto show this year, the 2020 SEMA show was canceled due to the pandemic.

Instead, the 2020 SEMA will be held online from November 2-6 in a new digital-only event dubbed SEMA360. One of the stars at the show will be a hardcore, heavily modified Gladiator concept loaded with performance parts.

Details about the concept are scarce. Our only glimpse at the custom Gladiator is a teaser sketch showing the rear of the truck. We can see the bed has been fitted with a hardtop canopy that gives the Gladiator a boxier appearance.

A jerry can and a chunky spare tire is also fitted to the back in case you get into trouble during extended off-road journeys, while new roof racks provide extra storage to carry bicycles. There also appears to be a custom rear bumper, and the sides feature prominent Jeep Performance Parts logos to let everyone know this truck isn't stock.

The modified Gladiator looks ready for a grueling off-road adventure, but we'll have to wait until the concept debuts next week to find out more details.

We're not expecting any modifications under the hood, however. As standard, the Jeep Gladiator is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 producing 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or eight-speed automatic transmission. Pricing starts at $33,545, but the costs will quickly add up if you splash out on Jeep Performance Parts. Let's hope Ford shows up at SEMA360 with a rival Bronco concept.
