Ford Bronco Sport Buyers Have A Unique Opportunity

But the devil is in the details.

Those who can't wait for the delayed 2021 Ford Bronco SUV should seriously consider a new Bronco Sport instead. Despite not being a true SUV with body-on-frame construction, the Bronco Sport is proving to be a formidable off-roader in its own right with its independent front and rear suspension, seven terrain management technologies, and standard all-wheel drive. Dealerships nationwide have been reporting high demand with no signs of slowing down.

And inventory may dwindle even more once potential buyers learn about this latest deal.

CarsDirect noticed an interesting new cash incentive Bronco Sport buyers should take advantage of. Beginning this month, all Bronco Sport trims are eligible for a $500 Retail Cash Bonus.

However, this type of bonus can only be applied when financing rather than leasing. Unlike other types of bonus offers, this one can be combined with attractive financing rates that can be as low as 0 percent for 48 months. The automaker previously offered that financing option (sans $500 bonus) last summer but was quickly and quietly replaced after just one month with a 0.9 percent rate.

To compare, a $30,000 Bronco Sport at a 0.9 percent rate for 48 months totals about $30,555, or $637 per month. This month's 0 percent offer reduces that to around $615 monthly, a $1,055 price cut. That might not sound like a lot to some, but those looking to save money wherever possible will surely appreciate it.

Those working on even tighter budgets and want to spread their monthly payments over a longer time period are being offered 60- and 72-month deals at 0.9 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively. Want to reduce the monthly payment even further?

There's an 84-month offer at 4.9 percent. But what about customers with no desire to finance and only want to lease? Unfortunately, Bronco Sport lease offers are pretty bad right now. In some states base trims are being listed at $360 per month for 36 months with $3,192 due up front, meaning an actual monthly cost of $449. That's actually over $40 more per month than a 2020 Explorer XLT lease deal currently on offer.

The current Bronco Sport offers won't expire until March 1, 2021, allowing plenty of time to take advantage of the $500 bonus cash.
