Will the Jeep Gladiator even fit in tiny Euro parking spots?

Although it first went on sale here in the US back in the spring of 2019, only now is the Jeep Gladiator reaching European shores. FCA (soon to be Stellantis) has just announced the Gladiator is now on sale at Jeep dealerships throughout Europe. Unlike US buyers, European Gladiator customers can only get the 3.0-liter Multijet V6 diesel engine with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The decision to sell only the oil burner in Europe makes sense due to the continent's stricter fuel emissions standards. The EPA has rated the Gladiator diesel at 22/28/24 mpg city/highway/combined. By contrast, an automatic-equipped 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 model carries a 17/22/19 mpg rating. The V6 can only be had in non-European markets and in the Middle East.

Every Europe-bound Gladiator will come equipped ready for off-roading with the full-time Selec-Track 4x4 system featuring a two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio, and heavy-duty Dana 44 front and rear axles with a 3.73 rear axle ratio. Both the Sport and Overland trims are available in Europe, as is a limited-run Launch Edition. A total of nine exterior colors are on offer, along with a soft top, or a black or body-colored hardtop.

Over 200 Mopar accessories will available to Gladiator buyers at launch, such as bed covers, a railed roof rack, rock rails, tubular side steps, and plenty more cool stuff. Inside, there's a standard seven-inch touchscreen with the latest generation Uconnect infotainment system.

An 8.4-inch screen is optional and is definitely the preferred choice since it includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Some standard safety systems include ParkView rear camera with a dynamic grid while blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, forward collision warning with autonomous braking, and adaptive cruise control are available.

Launch Edition Gladiators come fully equipped with black leather seats, a forward-facing camera, tonneau cover, spray-in-bed liner, 18-inch wheels, and unique badging. Pricing was not announced but should be comparatively similar to America and other markets.
