2018-2019 Toyota Tacoma: Recall Alert

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 44,000 model-year 2018-19 Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks

The Problem: Due to improper manufacturing processes by a part supplier, a seal in certain brake master cylinders may become damaged over time and leak brake fluid internally, which could change brake-pedal feel could change and suddenly reduce front brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder with a new brake master cylinder for free.

What Owners Should Do: Toyota will begin notifying owners by first-class mail starting in late January 2019. Owners can call the automaker at 800-331-4331, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
