Here's what $225,000 will get you.

Hennessey Performance Engineering revealed its Hellcat-powered Jeep Gladiator Maximus last May and production got underway last October. Only 24 examples will be built priced at $225,000 each. And we have confidence that every example will be sold. That price tag might sound steep but buyers are actually getting a lot for their money. Still not convinced? Perhaps it's time for an official demonstration.

Hennessey has just completed the first four of 24 vehicles and has taken one out to the desert for the specific purpose of tackling sand dunes. As you can see by this new batch of cool photos and video it did not disappoint. Its supercar price not only gets you loads of power but also nearly unbeatable off-roading capabilities that go further beyond what the stock Gladiator can do.

The Texas-based tuner did more than just stuff Dodge's greatest engine under the hood and up the output to 1,000 horsepower and 933 lb-ft of torque.

That power must be handled with care by the rest of the drivetrain so components like heavy-duty off-road axles fitted with Dana 60 front and rear differentials were added. The driveshafts were also upgraded to heavy-duty units. The stock suspension was swapped out in favor of a KING Off-Road Suspension System complete with a 6-inch lift. Of course, a set of 20-inch off-road tires not only look the part, but they're also a must-have. Unique front and rear bumpers give it a new look, too. A new radiator, fuel system, and a stainless steel exhaust system were also required.

Despite all of these additions, Hennessey still managed to retain the original eight-speed automatic transmission. There's also a custom leather interior with Maximus embroidering. Hennessey tells us it still has 20 examples to sell and availability will end on April 24.

If anyone is still hesitating to pull the trigger, they'll be happy to hear that $225k does include the donor Jeep Gladiator. It's now decision time.
