The 2020 Lexus GX 460 is the oldest model in the Lexus stable, having been on the market in its current form since the 2010 model year. After a decade on sale, the GX just received its biggest update yet with new exterior styling, an available Off-Road Package, and a standard Lexus Safety System+. It is still powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine producing 301 reliable horsepower and it remains the most rugged Lexus vehicle money can buy.

Lexus even showed off the GX's off-road prowess last year with a concept vehicle called the GXOR (GX Off-Road). This year, Lexus of Canada is showing off an updated version called the GX Overland Concept, which just made its debut at the 2020 Montreal International Auto Show.

The GX Overland Concept comes as Lexus prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary in Canada. Lexus also showed off a concept version of the LC Convertible at the show. "These concept vehicles embody our passion for design and the thrill of the drive," said Robert Tsang, Director of Lexus in Canada. "While they appear to be polar opposites, both concepts are connected by a common philosophy and commitment to deliver an exhilarating driving experience, no matter where the road takes our guests."

Lexus designed the GX Overland Concept for overland camping, which is why the truck has been equipped with a rooftop tent with a bed, a large awning, and a shower cube. To help get the GX to more remote locations, the Overland Concept is also fitted with off-road tires and unique suspension with more travel. Even the bodywork has been modified with a unique front winch bumper and full armoring on the underbody and sides. This is one luxury SUV you won't have to worry about scraping up.

Obviously, Lexus won't sell a production version of the GX Overland Concept, which is based on a 2020 GX 460 Executive Package. But theoretically, all of these modifications could be made to a GX, creating an awesome luxury off-roader.
