Ford Drives Fans Crazy With New Bronco Teaser
Some fuzzy spy shots aside, this is our best look yet at the new off-roader's face.
Ford is currently in the process of torturing its fans and appears to be enjoying every second of it. After what seems like an endless wait for the new Ford Bronco, the brand has posted yet another teaser after revealing parts of the off-roader's body yesterday, shown alongside its much older predecessor. The latest teaser is a CGI image of the Bronco's front-end, with the distinctive LED lighting elements shown being lit up in a short video on either side of the bold BRONCO lettering. As far as teaser campaigns go, this one is up there with the best of them, as one of the commenters said: "y'all are killing this reveal."
This is as much of the new Bronco's face as we have yet seen, besides, of course, a few fuzzy images that were leaked last month. The new teaser shots match up perfectly with those leaked photos and the teasers shown yesterday, showing a broad but shallow grille and the blocky proportions that make it clear that this is a Jeep Wrangler rival. The bright yellow paintwork is also visible as the Bronco lights up. The LED lighting element, which is an incomplete circle with another straight line shooting through it, is one of the most distinctive styling elements.
Of course, we now know that the official reveal of the 2021 Ford Bronco is just days away, having been earmarked for July 13. Although the final details of what is under the hood have yet to be confirmed, we expect two V6 EcoBoost engines: a 2.7-liter and a 3.0-liter. This same engine produces almost 500 horsepower with the help of an electric motor in the Lincoln Aviator, so it will be interesting to see if the Bronco goes the same route. It would be more than enough to have the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited trailing in a traffic light contest. But the real battle between these two will be fought over much harsher terrain. We can hardly wait.
