Introducing the Callaway SC410 Colorado and Canyon.

We're used to seeing plenty of tuner action in the full-size truck segment. It seems as though an American automaker can hardly launch a full-size light-duty pickup these days without renowned tuning institutions like Roush and Hennessey fixing to outdo one another with their own custom-tailored supercharger kits - not that you'll ever hear us complain about it.

These days, however, GM's mid-size pickup truck models are getting plenty of love, as esteemed tuning outfit Callaway Cars has announced supercharger packages for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, using those trucks' factory 3.6L V6 petrol engines, and we're excited by the results. This is the third supercharger package for GM's midsize trucks that we're aware of, with the other two being Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and Mallett Cars.

Available straight through GM dealerships across the country, the Callaway Colorado and Callaway Canyon are emboldened by a custom-tailored TVS1740 supercharger system with a dual-pass intercooler and a high-flow intake arrangement. The TVS1740 is a positive-displacement supercharger from Eaton's venerable, proven Twin Vortices Series (TVS) line - the same basic design that General Motors has been using in its high-performance factory cars for years.

In addition, the Callaway mid-size GM trucks flaunt a Callaway Sport exhaust system - the final piece in a package that, all said and done, elevates peak engine output to 410 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Along with that, the trucks flaunt Callaway all-weather mats and key fobs; Callaway exterior and interior badging; and an underhood build plaque laser engraved with the truck's VIN.

Callaway's GM mid-size truck twins are warrantied by the tuning outfit for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first, and a 5-year/60,000-mile limited powertrain service contract is available for an additional cost. Both trucks are assembled at Callaway's facilities in Connecticut and California.

If you're feeling especially adventurous, we suppose you could pair Callaway's supercharger package with Chevy's factory ZR2 Bison package, creating what might be the most awesome mid-size off-roader ever created.

Just saying.
